    Extra-Curricular Organizations:  As a student at Smithfield Middle School it is important to find a group to join.  Research shows that students who are involved in at least one activity at school will be more successful than those who isolate themselves.  Students absent from classes are not allowed to participate in extra-curricular activities beyond the school day without an administrator’s approval.  Students must have passing grades in order to compete or participate in performances outside the school day.
