Pregnancy Related Services
The focus of the PRS program is to support/encourage pregnant and parenting students to stay in school, as well as to recover pregnant and parenting students who may have dropped out. ASAP Program provides the following:
- Counseling – individual and peer counseling, pre-natal counseling and support are available
- Groups – support groups covering topics related to pregnancy/teen parenting.
- CEHI (Compensatory Education Home Instruction) – Home instruction provided to PRS Program students. CEHI is provided for the purpose of accruing as few absences as possible and staying caught up on curriculum and schoolwork while out of school due to prenatal and/or postpartum circumstances.
- Child Care – Assistance in obtaining childcare through Child Care Management Services (CCMS). This is based on CCMS available funding, family need and CCMS guidelines. We provide a list of local childcare centers that accept CCMS and students can choose a center for their child.
- Transportation –When funding is available, 91ÖÆƬ³§ transportation department can provide transportation for pregnant based on medical need.
- Instruction in Skills and Knowledge for Parenting – Child Development classes are offered on all high school campuses along with monthly teen parent support meetings.
- Job Readiness/Career Counseling – Career counseling and guidance as requested, career and technology courses offered on each campus for high school credit.
