Bilingual and ESL Summer Programs
Bilingual and ESL summer programs are offered at no cost to the family and are open to qualifying elementary and secondary emergent bilingual (English learner) students who currently attend 91ÖÆƬ³§. All bilingual and ESL programs focus on enhancing a student's English language development through academic content to prepare students for success at the next grade level. Parents/guardians of students who qualify for the bilingual and ESL summer programs will receive an invitation with a registration form.
Elementary Bilingual and ESL Summer Program for Pre-K and Kinder
Following the Commissioner's Rules (Chapter 89.1250), 91ÖÆƬ³§ provides a summer school program for emergent bilinguals (formerly English learners) who will be eligible for Kindergarten and Grade 1 at the beginning of the next school year.
- The summer program is designed to provide students with special instruction to prepare them to be successful in Kindergarten and Grade 1.
- The focus of instruction is on language development and essential knowledge and skills.
- The program addresses emergent bilinguals' affective, linguistic, and cognitive needs.
- A student must be currently participating in the bilingual or ESL program as determined by the Language Proficiency Assessment Committee.
- Participation in the summer program is optional.
Selected students from bilingual campuses will receive an invitation with a registration form from their current campus to be completed electronically.

Summer School for Bilingual Students in Grades 3-5
Elementary School
Students from any of our eight bilingual campuses who have completed grades 3-5 in the Dual Language program may be invited to attend summer school on their host campus and will engage in math, reading, and science instruction for accelerated learning purposes. See the elementary page for more information about the schools below.
The following elementary schools will host programs for all 3rd-5th students around the district: O.H. Stowe, Binion, Birdville, and Hardeman.
