Students will stay home if they have ONE or more of the following:
Has had a fever of 100 degrees or higher anytime in the past 24 hours
Coughing, chills, shortness of breath
Diarrhea or vomiting in the past 24 hours
Red, runny eyes, yellow discharge, or wake up with eyes “glued shut”
A rash of unknown origin
Live lice
Has a positive COVID-19 test or is waiting for the results of a COVID test
Student can return to school when they have ALL of the following:

-DSHS changed the exclusion rules for schools for COVID. It is NO LONGER 5 days.
New policy: Students may be readmitted to school once they have been “Fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever suppressing medications (Ibuprofen, Tylenol, etc). Fever is a temperature of 100° Fahrenheit (37.8° Celsius) or higher".
Refer to primary care physician for treatment.
Has been free of fever (without the use of Tylenol or Motrin) for 24 hours
Symptoms are improved
Has not had diarrhea or vomiting in the past 24 hours
Has no visible rash
No evidence of live lice (determined by school nurse)
The nurse does not make any judgment about whether absences are excused. Please call attendance at 817-547-5213
- Please call the nurse to report any infection diagnosed by a physician (such as COVID-19, flu, strep throat, pink eye, staph, chicken pox, etc)
- Students should remain at home for the first 24 hours of antibiotic treatment.
