• We will be having a golf meeting on August 1, 2024 at 6:30 pm in the Lecture Hall. I would suggest beginning practicing now and maybe sign up for a clinic or camp offered at a local golf course. Tryouts for the boys and girls will be at Westdale Par 3 golf course in Bedford during the week of August 6&7 for boys and August 8 for ladies. Please go to the Birdville athletic site to fill out all forms prior to tryouts and turned in to the athletic trainers online or located behind the gyms.

    1. Overview
         a. Physicals& Emergency waivers-Must have before tryouts.
       b. Proper golf dress attire and etiquette.
       c. Must be able to get to practice course if not in 7th period Golf class.

    2. Tryouts will be at Westdale Par 3 golf course in Bedford.
       a. Tryouts will be week of August 6&7 for boys and Aug. 8 for ladies.
       b. 7 dollars each day.
       c. First tee times begin at 10:00 am 
       d. Students will play nine holes each day.
       e. Students will tally their scores in front of an official behind 9 green.
       f. Nine stroke limit per hole.
       g. Out of bounds will be played as lateral hazard.
       h. Lost ball – all players will agree as to the area were ball was lost and player will then drop a ball and continue play adding one penalty stroke.
       i. If ball is hit in water, player drops in the drop area, add stroke penalty, then play will continue.
       j. Parents will remain 30 yards from all players.
       k. All players will carry drinks with them during play.

    3. Making the team
       a. Boys –The top 5 players and any players that shoot their designated score. Max 15 players. Top 5 Freshmen will automatically make the team.
       b. Girls –Top 5 Ladies and top 5 freshmen and any players that shoot their designated score. Max 15 players will be accepted.

    3. Scores to make team: (Total for two days for boys)

        Freshman boys – 84      Freshman girls - 48

        Sophomore boys - 74    Sophomore girls - 44

        Junior boys – 65           Junior girls - 40

        Senior boys - 65           Senior girls - 40
