BCTAL Culinary Arts
The Birdville Center of Technology and Advanced Learning Culinary Arts program is comprised of three classes: Culinary Arts I and Practicum in Culinary Arts and Practicum II (off-site internship). Each student experiences hands-on lessons in a workplace-learning environment through our large commercial kitchen and student-operated restaurant, The Bistro Café. From basic knife skills and safety/ sanitation practices to advanced cooking and baking techniques, our students have the chance to expand their knowledge and skills by practicing the best form of art, edible art!
The 91ÖÆƬ³§ Culinary Arts Program is taught using the ProStart Curriculum and is an Advanced Technical Credit (ATC) Certified course, offering college credit opportunities for students who score 80% or higher in the course and successfully pass the ServSafe Food Managers Exam, a national certification exam offered to Birdville Culinary students at no charge!
Take your skills to the next level!Students are encouraged to join SkillsUSA or FCCLA. In either of these national technical student organizations, students have the opportunity to gain leadership skills, compete in technical skills and leadership competitions, and travel to district, state and national event meetings!
